Ingredients
- Raw banana -1 medium size
- Garlic - 3 cloves
- Grated coconut - 3/4 cup
- Jeera - 0.5 tbsp
- Red chilli powder - 1 tbsp
- Green chilly - 1
- Mustard - 1tsp
- Curry leaves - 1 twig
- Red chilli - 1
- Oil - 1 tbsp
Procedure
- Cut the banana into very small pieces
- In a pan, heat oil and splutter mustard
- Add two red chilli and curry leaves and fry for a minute
- Add the cut banana into this
- Add half cup water
- Pulse coconut, jeera, garlic, turmeric, green chilli and red chilli powder.
- When the banana is half cooked, add the ground coconut paste and cook till the banana is completely cooked.
- Add required salt.
- Mix the coconut mixture and the banana nicely.
- Cook till the thoran has become dry and drizzle a bit of oil.
- Yummy thoran is ready to be served with rice.
Note:
- Raw banana cooks fast and gets mushy. Mix the banana frequently when it is getting cooked.
