Ingredients
- Tomato - 6 big
- Chilli powder - 1 tbsp
- Chilli flakes - 1 tbsp
- Garlic - 3 cloves
- Onion - 1 medium
- Oregano / Italian seasoning - 1 tbsp
- Tomato ketch up - 1 tbsp
- Butter - 1 tbsp
- Salt
- Italian basil - 2 bunch
- Sugar - 0.5 tbsp
- Oil - 2 tbsp
Procedure
- Blanch the tomatoes
- Cut X mark on the tomato
- Boil it in water for 5 minutes or till the skin peels out. Water should cover the entire tomatoes.
- When it has cooled, remove the skin
- Blend three tomatoes into a smooth puree
- From the remaining tomatoes, remove the seeds.
- In a pan, heat oil
- Cut garlic into small pieces
- Add the cut garlic pieces to the oil. Once the garlic starts to brown add onion.
- Once the onion is soft, add the deseeded tomatoes
- Once the tomato becomes mushy, add the tomato puree and stir for few minutes till the sauce becomes thick.
- Add redi chilli powder, oregano, chilli flakes, basil, sugar and salt.
- Then add tomato ketchup and butter and stir well.
- Sauce is ready to be used in pizza and pasta
