Kumbalanga / Ash gourd kichadi

Ingredients
  1. Kumbalanga / Ash gourd - 1/4th of a small ash gourd
  2. Grated coconut - 1 cup
  3. Curd - 2 cup
  4. Green chillies - 3
  5. Ginger - 1 inch
  6. Mustard - 1 tbsp
  7. Red chilli - 1
  8. Curry leaves - 1 twig
  9. Oil - 1 tbsp
  10. Salt
Procedure
  1. Cut ash gourd into very very small pieces
  2. Cook the ash gourd with one green chilly and salt.
  3. Grind coconut, half tbsp of mustard, remaining green chillies and ginger into a smooth paste.
  4. Add this paste to the cooked ash gourd and boil for 5 minutes
  5. Remove the kichadi from the stove and when the curry is cool, add curd and salt.
  6. Temper with mustard, red chilli and curry leaves
  7. Yummy kichadi is ready to be served with rice.
