- Moong dal - 1 cup
- Sugar - 1.5 cup
- Ghee - 9-10 tbsp
- Cardamom - 4
- Water - 2 cup
- Milk - 1 cup
- Almonds - 2 tbsp
- Cashew - 2 tbsp
- Soak moong dal in water for 4-5 hrs
- Drain and grind it with 1/4 cup water
- Melt ghee in non-stick pan.
- Add ground moong dal. Stir well.
- Keep stirring on low flame
- Meanwhile when halwa is cooking, in another pan take milk, water and sugar. Heat this mixture till it comes to boil.
- Now add this milk, water and sugar mixture to moong dal paste. The paste at this time should be light golden in colour.
- Lastly add cardamom powder, nuts and almonds.
- Moong dal halwa ready!
