Ingredients
- Chicken - 1/2 Kg
- Methi leaves - 2 cup
- Onion - 2 medium
- Tomato - 2
- Curd - 1 cup
- Giger garlic paste - 1.5 tbsp
- Green chilli - 2
- Jeera / Cumin seeds - 1 tbsp
- Turmeric - 1 tsp
- Fennel seeds - 0.5 tbsp
- Red chilli powder - 1.5 tbsp
- Coriander powder - 1.5 tbsp
- Garam masala powder - 0.5 tbsp
- Coriander leaves - 1 bunch
- Water - 1 cup
- Oil
Procedure
- Clean and cut chicken in small pieces
- Marinate chicken with turmeric, salt and 2 tbsp of curd for 30 minutes
- Cut onion, tomato and green chillies into small pieces
- In a pan, heat oil
- Splutter jeera and fennel seeds.
- Add onion and fry till it has browned
- Add ginger garlic paste and green chillies and stir till the raw smell goes away.
- Add tomato, close and cook till tomato becomes mushy
- Add turmeric, red chilli and coriander powder and fry for few seconds
- Add whisked curd to this and stir for another few seconds
- Add chicken and fenugreek leaves and salt
- Add water to this.
- Cover and cook for 10 minutes
- Add garam masala and coriander leaves and mix well
- Cook for another 5 minutes or till the required consistency is got
- Yummy methi chicken is ready to served with rice or chappathi.
